Welcome to Original Character Battle League.

ABOUT THE LEAGUE: This league was designed for many reasons. I've always wanted to create a league where you could battle using your own characters against other artist. This is not a new concept. There are a lot of OC Tournaments and sites around. I want to change it a bit and make it a league. I don't want it to be a battle when you want and a limited tournament where if you miss a battle your out of the match. I know life happens. I wanted to have something where it was ongoing and allowed a lot of people to join. After the first league starts I want additional leagues to start after it so that there is always something to watch out for. Now this first league will be a test and trial and I really want everyone to join.

WHERE IN THE WORLD: The storyline for this is going to be a fantasy base world. Even though this has been done to death, I want to add somethings. I want to also mix the Superhero world with it. So what that means is that if you have any Superhero's, Supervillian, aliens or anything that is cool, you can be in this world. The world is design to have different cities to fight in and different environments. I will have descriptions and pictures of each city so that you can have your character come from there or visiting from space. So remember there are still dragons, and monsters in this world but with just a little bit more.

The goal is to have 4 different leagues going at the same time. Each league would last for about 6 months. (this is still rough, playing around with the numbers) It would be an 8 game season and then a playoff for the last two months. Each battle would last about two weeks. Each league will be broken up by Conferences and divisions. A schedule for the whole season will be available. The first league is called the Onix League.

I am creating a world map so that you can pick which city your character is from so that he can have an home field advantage. Like let's say you have a shark guy, and his home field is water. The guy he is battling can't swim. Gives advantage to the shark guy but it also gives the opponent a chance to be creative on how he would win the battle.

RULES AND BATTLE GUILD (Subject to change)

Battle Time: The league is set up in 8 Divisions and a schedule will be developed for everyone to go by. Each battle will last for two weeks. 10 days for the artist and 4 days for the voting. Viewers will be putting in their votes for the person that they think did the best job in their battle. After the votes end on the forth day, the battle for the next match starts. So matches will begin on a Friday and 10 days later, will end on a Sunday night at Midnight PCT. (if you need time zones here's a link to one) [link]



Now the four days during the voting could be used for rest or it could be used to set up the story for the next battle. Everyone will play 8 games in this division and only the top characters in each division will go to the playoffs. The same as the season, for the first two rounds there will be 10 days of battle and 4 days for the voting. For the championship, the two finalist will get to battle for 20 days and there will be 7 days of voting.


A TIE IN A MATCH IS A LOSE FOR BOTH PLAYERS.
If there is a tie in the division to determine who will go to the playoff, the scores from their previous votes will be added up and the person with the most votes will win. In the event of a tie in the playoff, a random person will be picked to judge the battle and make their vote to break the tie.

PAGE BATTLES: The battles are simple. First you get matched up to fight someone else. You take their character and draw them fighting your character. You create the best storyline showing your character beating your opponents character and you submit them at the deadline. Your opponent will do the same. The winner gets a win and the loser gets... well you know. Animation for the battles is allowed.

Always remember, Victories can be created in many ways. Knock out, Tap out, Quitting, all kinds. NO KILLING!!!

HOMEFIELD ADVANTAGE: When you have the homefield advantage, you will have the advantage. That is where one on one don't apply. You can then have the whole city helping you out. If your an archer, random arrows coming out of the trees will keep your opponent on his toes. But the fans try to stay out of it so that everything can be fair. But some fans are just crazy!!!

You can use any art style that you want. Remember this is a league where you are suppose to be trying out new stuff and getting the hang of comic book art. Have fun with it!!!

BLOOD AND GORE: is ok also. But the goal is not to kill the person. Due to magic and other technology, we can have an arm get cut off and have it fixed later. But just do it tastefully. NO KILLING!!! Trust me the season would be short if that happen. Let's try to stay away from tooooo much sex. You can make things sexy, fun, all of the above but let's try not to go porno!

A lot of people will miss deadlines and it happens. All I ask is that you try your best and fight as hard as you can. You don't have to have a finish product to put it up. My thing is do all the sketching first. Go back and letter. Go and ink it and then color. Where ever you end up then post it up at the deadline.

Judging will be from your peers. There will be polls and the voting will last 4 days.

AUDITION GUILDLINES: (Subject to change)


CHARACTER SUBMISSION: You can create any character that you want. That's the best thing about this world, there are no stipulations. Just NO fan characters from any franchises or look-a-likes. The only thing is don't make your character GODISH <---- is that a word? The characters should have strengths and weaknesses. So:
1. Must have a character sheet so that people know what your character looks like.
2.Age
3.Race
4.Fighting abilities
5.Strength
6.Weaknesses (try to shoot for more then one)
7.Bio (give us a lot of knowledge about the personality.)
8.Shoot for the character to be in color. It will help when people are drawing them

I'm going to create cities so that you have a home field advantage. (See Rules and Battle Guildlines)

DEADLINE: Unknown yet. Can't really do extensions because of time restraints.

CHARACTER INTRO: Suggested that a week before the season starts I want everyone to submit a small comic showing them get to their first fight. Leaving home for the first time... Stuff like that. Reason for that is so that when someone draws your character you can't get made for them having him drunk though the whole fight when all you said is that he likes to drank.


REJECT: There are really no rejections. It depends on what you submit. If it's way out of what would work in the league is the only way. Right now we are excepting 32 players for the first League. A month after the deadline I will start up another league for the second batch of characters. (That's if we get more submissions then 32.)

A very powerful and rich man by the name of Yilz decided that life on the planet was getting pretty boring. The wars had stopped and crime was very low. Living in Jestic City and being the riches man around made it easy for him to create his own entertainment. One day, he paid two powerful warriors to battle for his amusement and he had an idea. He would create this into a league and people would come from all over to watch the battles. Yilz sent out an invitation to all the cities on the world of Cetera. A lot of people will auditioned but he will choose the ones that he thinks will entertain the people. Let the games begin.

Now the info on the cities/towns/villages are not real descriptive so that you can create your city as you see it. I want you to have a base for what the city is about but from there it's yours to mold. Some cities and some of the things about them. I'm working on the flash map Just wanted ya'll to know I'm working!!!



1. Hommbe: Known for their expensive seafood and night life. Lots of gambling.
2. Vargis: An army city where people go to be trained in the art of war.
3. Audo: Known for their magic shops and stores
4. Duzmar: Closed community with a big wall built around it. No one has been in or out in years until the announcement of the league.
5. Cereme: A very religious city. Holy fighters for their god.
6. Juzze: Thug city that has no rules and drank and fight all day. Good times!
7. Aquriu: City of lady warriors. Men are invited to the city eight times a year for mating but they have to fight to leave alive. Men can always visit but can't touch.
8. Rito: Waterside city next to the beach. Fishing and boating is very popular. Great for swinging and diving.
9. Boteum: Samurai community where they train all day and fight all day. Great city.
10. Encore: A hot city that is sitting under an inactive volcano. Mostly a blacksmith community, they make the majority of the worlds swords and machinery parts. Warriors from all over the land come to buy swords from them.
11. Mooze: An abandon city no one lives in. Considered a ghost town.
12. Boslis: Desert village with little resources. People are often caught fighting over water.
13. Quli: Known for their alcohol creation. The supply the whole planet with the best alcohol around.
14. Truf: Rough city. Burned down after the Ezon'n war. Vagabonds and thugs live here ready to rob and steal.
15. Ezee: City of medicine. Has created most of the worlds curing potions.
16. Lentarz: Great building community.
17. Vinil: Is known for their advancement in shipping development. Has one of the biggest ships on the planet.
18. Pevii: Average city known for it's. It's known for it's food and it's advancement in ship manufacturings. Rumored that it stole plans from the city of Vinil.
19. Nezree: Very plentiful city. Known for their lodging and inns.
20. Tarmee Village: Small village full of warriors that study the dark arts
21. Zemal Village: Small village full of warriors that study the light arts.
22. Mevic Village: Small village full of warriors that study the blood arts.
23. Fizim: Very known for their warriors and hunters. They also have small red dragons that they ride to get around.
24. Jimlia: Abandon city
25. Sayme: Fishing city
26. Coolp Village: Hunting community

28. Skykur: City of technology. Nicknamed Metal City due to the major technological advances made daily by the citizens who live there.
29. Zimber: Second richest city on the planet. Known for their magic.

33. Barlic: A farming town.
34. Camili: A tree city hidden in the woods.

46. Kovi: Poor city. Rundown but said to have a new mayor.

51. Isial: a snow covered city basking in light at day as well in the night.

The map is to be used to pick a place for your character to come from. Now the cities will probably resemble your character so pick a city that fits your character. Like a city that's rich and well off will probably be great for a rich contestant. Or a Shark guy would be great for the underwater city. The cities will give you home field advantage when the battles start.

I have all the cities named and I just have to post things up. I might do flash on the map so that you click it and it gives you a short bio for the city. Not sure yet so give me sometime! Thanks!
